Eli! Eli!

I had just woken up. It was barely light yet.

I remember very clearly having dreamt about Elijah, and Eli serving in the Temple, telling Samuel to go back to bed because it was not he who had called to him.

It had been exactly 1 day since I got my car.

You might not pray about naming your car, and neither did I at first. But, I knew God had spoken to me, so I named my car Eli.

At first, of course, I was sceptical — this wasn’t how I had hoped or imagined it would turn out. My car-situation, I mean.

But I was content, and deeply thankful (as I still am!), knowing that God’s provision is not lacking.

When reading through the Scriptures, ELOHIM and EL ELYON are some of the first Names fo God we come across. The Most High is Creator and Sustainer. He isn’t distant, but PERSONAL, and He calls us into relationship with Him. We were created to live face-to-face in His presence.

As I spent time in prayer that morning, reading through Scripture and studying the meaning of His’ Name, I was reminded that the Most High knows exactly what we need for each season we’re in, whether it’s the desert or the Promised Land, and He provides in abundance — even if that provision looks different from what we expected it to be.

The more I look back over the last couple of years, there more aware I become of the careful ways in which my life was conducted by the Master!

It’s my pleasure to be part of that harmony, even when I can’t see the bigger picture.

As worshippers, our goal is not simply to praise God, but to change the spiritual atmosphere.

We can only do this, when we hear and respond to His call.

This post isn’t about a car, or prophetic dreams as much as it is about God’s faithfulness.

My prayer for you, dear friend, is that you’ll have the courage to respond to his call so that you might be drawn deeper into relationship with Him.

When He calls you into the wilderness, may you have such faith in His’ faithfulness that you’ll leave the comfort of the familiar behind, knowing that God is able to provide, but above all, knowing that he who started the good work within you will bring it to completion.
